The Entertainment Commission has come under attack of late by those groups who seek to limit the variety of entertainment venues in this world-class city.  The night life industry is a significant economic engine driving the San Francisco economy and that industry, along with its talent and customers, are rallying to show support for the Commission.

San Francisco's legendary nightlife venues are being threatened by a state agency that over the last two years has adopted a more aggressive policy of enforcing its arcane rules, in the process jeopardizing both needed tax revenue and a vibrant, tolerant culture that these bureaucrats don't seem to understand.

The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition is an alliance of thousands of people who ride bicycles, and who want to encourage more people to ride bicycles because they know it makes for a better city. Earlier last month, on behalf of the people of San Francisco, City Attorney Dennis Herrera reached an agreement with Mirant Corporation to close their dirty, polluting power plant on Potrero Hill by the end of 2010.
